The Campus
USL is housed in a colonial style building, which is centrally located in the heart of the city. The campus spreads on a vast stretch of greenery and salubrious surroundings. The impressionist style building retains its charm and charisma despite dating back to the British era. The campus prides itself with some of the best manicured lawns of the city. The main block houses the administrative section, whereas the flanking building houses the classrooms, library, computer room and faculty chambers, along with all the other administrative paraphernalia.

Strategically Located
USL is situated within a stone’s throw from some of the major courts of the region. The courts located in the immediate vicinity of the School are:

* District and Session Court * Chief Judicial Magistrate * Civil Judge (Senior Division) * Civil Judge (Junior Division) * Judicial Magistrates.

The High Court of Uttarakhand is also located at a nearby city - Nainital. Regular periodic visits to these courts have been planned for the students and are a part of the regular curriculum.

The Lecture Halls
The Lecture Block has 16 spacious lecture halls, with one lecture hall for each year. All lecture halls are well lit with natural as well as artificial lighting to facilitate a stress free learning experience. The entire campus is on a 100% power back-up system to fight the occasional power cut.

The Library
USL is equipped with a high-tech library. The most modern innovations in the field of library and information sciences are in use. A large number of quality books on different subjects are available. Quite a few Law Journals like AIR, Supreme Court Cases, Criminal Law Journal etc, Periodicals, and Reporter Law magazines etc. and regular subscriptions to all major National and Regional newspapers aim to keep our budding lawyers abreast with the latest news and happenings. With total of about 2000 books, reference material and journals, no student at USL shall ever need anything more. 

The textbook section and the journals and periodicals section of the library have different timings. The textbook section opens at 9.00am and is open till 6.00pm, though books are not issued after 5.00 pm. The Journals and Periodicals section will soon be fully searchable on a computerized database and this is very useful indeed. A similar database of journal articles is also in the process of being compiled. Each student is issued a library card and is allowed four books on it, for a period of seven days. The books have to be returned by the stipulated time, failing which a strict fine is incurred. The journals and periodicals section is open from 9.00 am till 6.00pm. The library has been provided with a photocopier for the use of students. The library offers up-to-date equipment to facilitate hassle free sharing and distribution of information - electronic as well as physical.


The Computer Lab
The computer lab has state-of-art p-IV computers connected to the internet and equipped with MS Office XP. The internet connection is provided by a 256 kbps high-speed dedicated leased line and it is faster than anything one would get to use otherwise. It is open from 9.00am to 6.00pm. The lab is well equipped with the latest equipment and offers a state-of-the-art computing experience.



The Moot Court
USL has a Moot Court of its own in the campus. Here the practical training of advocacy is imparted to the students by the faculty members and other professionals. The live experience of the Moot Court gives tremendous morale boost and inspiration to the students of Law. We aim to turn our students into top class student advocates and excel at various moot court competitions which are held at national and international level.

Cafeteria
USL has a cafeteria within the campus where hygienic and nutritious food, snacks, hot & cold drinks etc. are available to the students at reasonable price.

Recreational Facilities
For those who favour physical exercise, USL offers fairly decent sports facilities. Badminton and Basket Ball courts are some of the sporting facilities available on campus. In addition to this are some of the indoor games like TT, Chess, Carrom, Board etc

Boarding And Lodging
USL provides separate boarding and lodging facilities for boys and girls, which are conveniently located near the campus. It has been ensured that the students get homely environment, comfortable stay along with hygienic and nutritious meals.

The Bank at your doorstep
An extension counter of a nationalised bank (OBC Bank) is located within the campus and offers preferred timings for banking operations to the students and staff of USL.
