Dean's Message

As Dean IMS School of law, it gives me immense pleasure to convey the excellence of our law school programs. We are commitment to achieve transcendence in legal education through globally relevant academic programs, outstanding faculty members, art of teaching, limitless clinical trainings and far-reaching projects.

Education at IMS School of Law stretches beyond the boundary of prescribed syllabus. A team of distinguished Judges, Legal Practitioners and Consultants, Social Activists, Corporate Counsels, and Faculty Members of law schools across the country intimately nurture the talent of our students.

The quality of education, opportunities and experiences at IMS School of Law has no comparison in legal industry in India, containing a variety of academic and extracurricular activities, along with the variety of students with dynamic faculties makes each day a potential adventure.

The program contains learning of Good oral and written communication skills, Analytical and Reasoning Skills, Initiative, Personal Impact, Moot Courts, providing legal aids, Resilience, Teamwork, Legal Awareness, Planning and Organizing, through highly advanced innovative approaches.

Our motive is to become one of the world’s leading education training and research school with the aim to produce lawyers with quality skills in different domains as well as to meet the challenges for corporate world and developing LPO’s in India.
With the right environment in the valley of Dehradun, we are creating the new heights of legal education.

Currently, we are running two programs in the IMS School of Law:

1. - Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Law (BA LLB): It is a Five Year Full Time Integrated Under Graduate Degree Program approved by UGC and affiliated to HNB Garhwal University.
2. 
   - Bachelor of Law (LLB): It is a Three Year Full Time Under Graduate Degree Program approved by UGC and affiliated to HNB Garhwal University

Justice (Retd.)  K.D. Shahi

About the Dean:

Justice K. D. Shahi is a man who is known as the legal encyclopedia in itself. He is LLB (Gold Medalist, Gorakhpur University) and LLM (Lucknow University). He has served at various Senior Positions in the judiciary including: Legal Advisor, District & Sessions Judge, High Court Judge, President (Dealer Selection Board (Petroleum), Lucknow, Govt. of India), Member (U.P. Advisory Board (Detention)), and President (Uttaranchal State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission), Member of Enquiry Committee 2009 (Constituted by Gorakhpur University to enquire several cases of corruption and other matters, in the University), and President (Committee constituted by H.N.B. Garhwal Central University to dispose of representation u/s 68 of University Act, returned by his Excellency Governor of Uttarakhand to the University, in 2009-10). He is Revising Author of Sanjiva Row's "Easements & License and "Separate Digests of Civil, Consumer, Matrimonial, Criminal Journals” published by Delhi Law Times Publications, Tis Hazari Delhi, which are under publication.
