Mass Communication is the study of mass media which includes Newspapers, Magazine, Radio, Television, Film and Internet etc. and now it has become one of the fastest growing sectors. Today Media is playing a very important role in every individual’s life. Since we are living in the age of information, everybody wants information constantly without missing a single moment. People are short of time and they need important and valuable news presented beautifully in few words which is not an easy job. It is an art and this art requires a very intelligent and sharp skills.

Our mission is to educate the students in a broad range of media skills and concepts involving the gathering, editing and presentation of information and prepare them for a career in journalism and mass communication.’ Our teaching pedagogy provides the students insight into the deeper aspects of mass media and communications. The current applied knowledge & techniques are effectively used in our teaching process.

To fulfill our objectives we have state of the art Electronic Media & Print Media Lab equipped with high-end gadget and software which are used by Media Industry around the world.

We provide our students excellent career guidance and the excellent placement opportunities. The motive of School of Mass Communication is to fulfill all aspirations and expectations of our media students.

The School endeavours to:

Currently, IMS School of Mass Communication offers the following two programs:

- MA-MC (Master of Arts in Mass Communication) Two Year Full Time Post Graduate Degree Program, approved by UGC and affiliated to HNB Garhwal University.
1. 
   - BA (Hons) MC (Honours Bachelors of Arts in Mass Communication), Three Year Full Time Under Graduate Degree Program, approved by UGC and affiliated to HNB Garhwal University.
